NHPC eNews: No Worries

And God Said…

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33

Jesus is teaching on not worrying. In verse 25 Jesus says, “…do not worry”. Don’t worry about tomorrow; don’t worry about what we’re going to eat and drink or what we’re going to wear.

I find it difficult to not worry especially when faced with challenges. It takes Christian friends and God’s word to keep me on track. Being on God’s track includes working to “earn a living”. God provides the means to minimize the worry.

God’s Word is my reminder. God’s Word gives me strength and hope to keep moving forward. Is God’s Word your source of comfort? Make it your comfort by spending time with Him every day, reading the Bible, praying, and singing Christian songs.

Ministries and Announcements

Thanks to everyone who worked so diligently in putting the program together. It was well done and a success. Thank you for inviting friends and family. That’s what really counts, sharing Jesus with them.

It was such a joy to see our Youth participating. The song and reading of scriptures were terrific! The adults did well too with their singing and dancing. And it’s always a joy when John Lyman shares his version of “Nails in His Hands”. By the way, John did not know that Pastor Nando would ask him to dance. Though “unprepared”, John is always willing and always worships God when doing the dance.

New people have continued to attend. Let us love on them as ohana. And don’t forget to keep inviting family and friends. Through our invitations we will change the world.

Women’s Ministries

Lilia and Cheryl are doing a great job leading our women in Bible studies, ohana activities, dancing, and exercise.

Be part of the ohana and have fun too. Contact Lilia or Cheryl for more information.

For you men, join the Men’s groups on the first and third Thursday at 7:00pm or every Saturday at 6:30am.

Keiki Ministry

Thank you to those who have helped Ron and Geri in the past few weeks. They have been short-handed and really appreciate your help.

Please pray about helping out. This ministry is necessary for our church to be vibrant and growing.

Prayer Ministry

On the first and third Monday of each month, Cheryl and I, along with others come to pray for you, the church, Pastor Nando, his family, and others. Please give us your prayer requests via email or the Sunday tabs. We want to pray for you because we know it works. Please consider joining us on these evenings too.

From one of the emails I received:

Sunday after church, a Mom asked her very young daughter what the lesson was about. The daughter answered, “Don’t be scared, you’ll get your quilt.” Needless to say, the Mom was perplexed. Later in the day, the pastor stopped by for tea and the Mom asked him what that morning’s Sunday school lesson was about. He said “Be not afraid, thy comforter is coming.”
